MANILA, Philippines — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) arrested 2,010 players and confiscated a total of P493,182.50 jackpot in separate anti-illegal gambling operations across Metro Manila.

The NCRPO said it conducted 808 anti-illegal gambling operations from Nov. 23 to Dec. 20 within its five districts: Manila Police District, Quezon City Police District, Northern Police District (Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela), Eastern Police District (Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, San Juan) and Southern Police District (Las Piñas, Makati, Muntinlupa, Parañaque, Pasay, Pateros, Taguig).

“The most common violations identified were cara y cruz, playing cards, betting, dice games, EZ2, and loteng,” it said in a statement released Friday night.

“We are committed to eradicating these illegal activities that harm our communities. The NCRPO’s intensified campaign against illegal gambling is aligned with the PNP’s thrust of effective enforcement of all laws,” NCRPO Acting Director Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin said.

“In this campaign, public participation is crucial, thus, we urge everyone to report any illegal gambling activities in their area,” he added.
